Just to play devil's advocate - does Torchlight deserve massive amounts of hate mail because it's basically Diablo? No. It's a member of the same genre, not a ripoff.
He's worked on the "7th highest rated Xbox 360 title"... so he might have invented the sound blurring thing. Jury's out though, you can't really pin down stuff like that.
Is FC a Minecraft 'clone' or just a member of the same genre? I'd argue it was the latter.
He's an indie developer like any other. They deserve the benefit of the doubt!
Wow, that's a terrifying shotgun. Is that an uzi on the bottom? That'd be ridiculously awesome in BF3.
It does make the point that they also don't matter so long as the gameplay's solid.
The overall quality of XBLIG titles have been improving in leaps and bounds over the last few months, partly down to the scene itself rejecting the whole "zombie massage" crowd. You're right though, there's still work to be done.
This little game isn't pretty, but it's insane value for 80 MSP. Better than any massage app, that's for sure.
The article is well-written, logical, interesting and plain wrong.
Ninja Theory sell out their source material's authenticity to make it cynically appeal to a Western audience and don't innovate for the sake of it.
Microsoft really haven't lost their touch when it comes to ergonomics. In terms of next-gen first party core peripherals, the Xbox 360 controller is easily the best. But I'd argue that Sidewinder got them to where they are today!
That's actually a very nice piece of kit, though I always found it to feel a little 'light' in terms of feel for my tastes. I guess that could be a good thing, mind.
Do these articles really belong on N4G? Price comparison or deals sites, maybe. But it's an advert thinly disguised as journalism.
Damn straight, Kane and Lynch are godawful. Plus, don't they hate each other?
It's important to remember that Move and Kinect aren't in direct competition. They have completely different sales modes, objectives and target audiences. I wish people would stop comparing them.
Yep, this article is poorly-written and obvious flamebait. But calling the author a "fanboy" while banging on about the PS3 is still a tad... hypocritical. Just ignore stuff like this.
It's far too early to tell. It's fun to speculate, but there's absolutely no way that retailers have settled on a price yet.
Guys, it's high time we stopped ignoring everything the man says. He's an accountant, not a celebrity- and as soon as sites stop reporting his deluded ramblings, the sooner he'll trade in his camera for a calculator.
As far as the Sony lineup being "better," though, I'd be largely inclined to agree- but it's not enough to make gamers trade in the Xboxes.
As a niche title, From Software are wise to maximise their consumer base. I don't think it's particularly helpful (to anyone) to identify Xbox owners as FPS fanatics to a man. This might just be the niche action RPG that many Xbox owners have been waiting for!
That said, established Demon's Souls fans will probably ensure higher PS3 sales.
To coin a phrase: "+1"
Team Ninja have their work cut out, especially as far as balance is concerned. They also need to deliver an experience with all the bells and whistles that we're used to (checkpoints etc)- possibly with a hardcore mode for the purists?
Unreal Tournament's Impact Hammer, anyone?
Your reference made me laugh a lot. I'm wondering what else you've got? :)
In all seriousness, there are a fair few other worthy games on this list- including the sadly underrated Infinite Space that didn't really make a splash on European shores.
Deadly Premonition is a worthy winner- and definitely worthy of at least a rental.
So says Mr Stewart.
Erm... http://n4g.com/news/719187/...
Not looking good. Scott Pilgrim is the ultimate film tie-in though.
